Dr. Laura Ichim

BDS with Distinction (Otago), FRACDS (GDP)

Since graduating (with distinction) from Otago in 2010, Laura has carved out an impressive career for herself. Laura believes in practising ethical, evidence-based dentistry with a focus on patient centred care. She strives to provide a positive, comfortable, relaxed and pain free experience – because of this, she has been able to build long lasting relationships with her patients.

Laura completed post graduate studies and received a Fellowship in General Dental Practice from the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS). In 2016 she was awarded the Sutherland Prize in recognition for achieving the highest marks in General Dentistry. Considering her career achievements thus far, it’s not surprising Laura was selected to receive the Outstanding Young Dentist of Year Award by the NZDA for 2017/2018.

In her spare time, Laura volunteers with multiple charities – she provides dental treatment to those in need at DCM, and is the President of the NZDA Wellington Branch (and long-term executive board member). She’s also very committed to One Percent Collective, a charity started by her husband in 2012 which to date has raised over $3 million to support local charities like DCM.
