Whitening Teeth

Teeth whitening is one of the quickest, easiest, and most popular ways to brighten your smile, and it's a treatment we love offering at The Wellington Dental Practice.

To help you get the very best results from your whitening treatment, we've put together some helpful tips and information below.

What to expect

Every smile is unique, so whitening results can vary from person to person. Teeth with darker yellow or grey tones may take a little longer to lighten and may need additional whitening gel to achieve your desired result.

It's important to know that only natural tooth enamel will whiten. Existing dental work such as fillings, crowns, veneers, or caps won't change colour and may need replacing if you'd like them to match your newly brightened smile.

Some teeth respond faster than others. For example, your upper front teeth often whiten more quickly than your lower teeth. It's also normal for some areas of your teeth to whiten differently, especially if they weren't all the same shade to begin with.

Before you start, we may take photos or record the shade of your teeth so we can track your progress. While we can estimate improvements, the final result can't be predicted in advance.

A little sensitivity is normal. Some people notice mild tooth sensitivity during whitening, but this can usually be managed with the Tooth Mousse and sensitive toothpaste provided. If you're experiencing discomfort or have any concerns, please get in touch with us. We're always happy to help and offer advice to keep you comfortable throughout your whitening journey.
